Another really great video from TED of tools (like cell phones and Web 2.0) that are available now. Since it was filmed in 2006, it makes no mention of some of today's more pressing issues... but the concepts and ideas are still valid. An interesting watch, listed below are some of the sites mentioned in the video...

The general fear of using technology in our daily lives still exists. My current generation (x) is the forefront of this technology and is the generation to apply it to many traditional methods in order to enhance the behavior or lifestyle of the person. The new generation is growing up with technology in hand because it is very important to the growth of the person. It can be said that technology will either be our greatest asset or the downfall to humanity as we know it.
There are assumption about various generational views of technology. On misconception (in general) is that baby boomers are less adept with technology. It is without merit according to most studies, e.g., AARP reports.
It is inevitable that technology is influencing all generations today. It is important for every one of us to engage in learning new software applications and it will allow us to compete in a global economy.
It really doesn't matter whether you are "naturally inclined" to pessimism or optimism as long you take action and move toward solutions. It may be a small step, but if enough of us take small steps it will make and impact. My husband and I sold our second car almost two years ago. We share our only car and commute by bicycle or the electric bicycle when we can.
Technology is a large part of our lives now and especially with my generation leading the way with advancements in technology it is important to realize the impact that it makes on us. I think its great that it is so integrated with what we do because it is making things easier for us, although it may be our downfall one day. I do believe that the generations before mine may have initial difficulty with keeping up with technology, but I have seen the opposite and learned from previous generations on how to use technology. It is something that we cannot escape and must learn how to utilize it.
As we know it technology is changing and growing as we see it. It is essential that we are familiar with the new technologies whether it may be using cell phones or taking computer classes to be up to date with the change in technology. With change in technology it is better for everyone.
The presenter discussion about Witness Earth was interesting because at the palm of our hands we can transmit information. Still there are others may use their phones in ways that may actually serve a purpose to display chaos. Whatever the case may be, good or bad information transmitted, should there be someone overlooking all the data being sent?
